The first poster for Ang Lee’s latest feature film, Life of Pi, has hit the web.
Novel synopsis below:
The movie—based on the best selling novel of the same name—stars Suraj Sharma as Pi Patel, a son of zookeeper with an encyclopedic knowledge of animal behavior and fervent love of stories.
When Pi is sixteen, his family emigrates from India to North America aboard a Japanese cargo ship, along with their zoo animals bound for new homes. The ship sinks. Pi finds himself alone in a lifeboat, his only companions a hyena, an orangutan, a wounded zebra, and Richard Parker, a 450-pound Bengal tiger. Soon the tiger has dispatched all but Pi, whose fear, knowledge, and cunning allow him to coexist with Richard Parker for 227 days while lost at sea. When they finally reach the coast of Mexico, Richard Parker flees to the jungle, never to be seen again. The Japanese authorities who interrogate Pi refuse to believe his story and press him to tell them “the truth.” After hours of coercion, Pi tells a second story, a story much less fantastical, much more conventional–but is it more true? — Amazon

I’m sure that was most of your reactions too. Yes, Pokémon is getting a new game but not by itself. In a crossover with Nobunaga’s Ambition, the Pokémon will go back to the feudal Japan and get involved with the classic strategy RPG style. More specific details and images are available at the cited sources, as well as an upcoming trailer to be posted soon by us.
The game is scheduled for a Spring 2012 release in Japan for the Nintendo DS.

I’ve seen these string doll key chains around and thought they were cute, but not that interesting. The idea of turning them into your favorite characters never popped in my head until I discovered Em-Ar-Ae’s adorable string dolls. With some felt and crochet work, she’s able to transform these plain string dolls into something super cute worth keeping around.

A friend discovered this and linked it my way, and after seeing just one of paperfetish’s paper sculptors, I couldn’t help going through his whole gallery. I’m impressed by how detailed and clean each cutout sculptor looks. Especially since he was able to cut out a perfect Tinkerbell the size of a dime!
